MTRAC, the Midlands Therapeutics Review & Advisory Committee, has issued its latest Commissioning Guidance report, covering buprenorphine transdermal patch (BuTrans and Transtec) for the treatment of chronic non-cancer pain (the committee did not consider guidance for the use of transdermal buprenorphine for cancer-related pain because this was considered to be restricted to specialist care).

I guess my pain management doctor (not anymore)doesn't read the info on the meds he prescribes. Let's see: A cancer patient who is on 4mgs of Suboxone is given a Butrans patch to alleviate pain. Hmmm, sounds a little like malpractice to me. Of course it's not going to help with pain for a Sub patient who is used to a higher dose. Add in the cancer part and he's an idiot. One visit and I told them to take hike.

My Oncologist will handle my pain.

Normally I don't respond to these News__Poster ones but it struck a nerve.
