Anybody taking the generic subutex? I been asking my parm for months for generic suboxone and they kept telling me don't carry it. I was getting pissed. Then I remembered it's not generic suboxone it is generic subutex. Now they tell me they have it. Anybody else using this? It's so much cheaper. For the suboxone I was paying $7.70 a pill. Now they tell me the generic subutex will cost me about $2.50 a pill.

Hi Angelo,

Here's a recent thread about just that:

http://www.suboxforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1286&highlight=subutex
(You can also search "subutex" for others.)

I plan on asking my doc about switching to the generic subutex the next time I see him. If you do switch, would you let us know how it goes?

Melissa

I tried the switch from suboxone to generic subutux and hated it!! First and least importent it tasts horrible!! 2ed Most important IT DIDN'T WORK. well it kinda worked. It worked fine for a few hours maybe.. five before i needed another dose. I almost had to doubble my dose.. then.. shiv I'm all out and going through w/d. I had to call my doc and get a new script for suboxone. I asked my doctor and she said that the other two people that she treats didn't do well with it either. sucks cause i was looking forward to buying a new TV with the savings... Sad

I got my second script today for generic subutex...was on suboxone for I think 8 months....It works great for me. I like it better because it does not have naloxone in it...that stuff gave me a headache..I am happy the generic is $5 with my insurance....without insurance Sam's Club has it for $2.50 a pill. good luck.

Thanks for everyones response. I don't understand why the one person it didn't work for. A generic is the same exact ingrediant with sometimes the filler is different but that's all. I have to try it. It is to cheap not to.

I knew that. I thought it had a different name like suboxone, subutex and the generic was called something different beside the ingrediant buprenorphen.
