Great ! from subox to methadone????????????????? Reply with quote

Ok this may help a little or not but im doing it backwards i went from 150mg of methadone to 3 8mg sub tabs a day after i was off methadone 72 hours and it has been hell at first. Now 2 weeks later its starting to work and im not sick and belive me the years i put in the methadone clinic was a waste. I always lazy, eating sweets, nodding sometimes, burned things sometimes, but im not blamming all that on methadone, some of it was lack of deep reg. sleep. I went from 180 pounds to 255 in no time on methadone, my legs stay swelled really bad and now there not. In this few weeks off methadone i've lost at least 40 pounds. So just something to think about. Im not knocking methadone i thought i was a lifer but luckily i found sub for now its a blessing....

thanks for the reply.

man sub was a blessing to me at first. i felt awesome about a week after getting on it from OC. but after i got past that honeymoon phase i slowly became incredibly miserable.

i know alot of people that arent like that and have been on sub a lot longer than i stayed and are still happy. i also know alot of people who sub just doesnt cut it for.

i guess im one of those. i have felt way better since. all the side effects like sweating, hot flashes, constipation, are still present. but so far they have been to a much lesser degree than they were while on Suboxone.

i was taken 16 mgs, i stopped taken em

48 hours later i snorted an oc - did not feel high or anything but did ease my anxiousness and overall i just generally felt less like sh it.

72 hours from my last sub dose i dosed at 30. im at 45 and think im gonna stay here a while bc its holding me pretty well.

thanks for response good luck on suboxone man

I think methadone or suboxone in the right situation are absolutely life saving medications, but I did not want to stay on 120mg. I could tell certain things about me were not in my control anymore, I just assumed I was a lifer when I first got on. I felt like I was acting medicated constantly and most of the time I was unaware of the severity of the situation. Now that I'm done it seems like something I cant even put words to. Music sounds better, I dont feel like I'm dragging 500lbs of bricks behind me everywhere. I feel like I can take part in conversation without sounding medicated. Theres a million little feelings that I never noticed when they disappeared but now that they are coming back online it feels almost nostalgic. Can't believe how much time has past. Seems like a dream.

If you need to use methadone instead of suboxone or subutex to stay off of your drug of choice, then go for it! If for whatever reasons the sub's do not work well for you, why not go the methadone route. As said, I believe both can be life saving medications when applied correctly. Good luck!
