Anyone else doing the counseling through telephone conversations with RB (the manufacturers of Suboxone)? Just curious. My husbands' doc is having him do this even though he has been part of his Suboxone program since March. Is this something everyone has to do or just a select few? I have heard nothing about this and I, too, take Suboxone. Hey, doc, you know anything about this? Anyone?

I haven't heard of this. My doctor is so laid back though, hasn't required counseling or meetings at all. What's it like? Is it free? And who is he talking to...a nurse, therapist, fellow addict in recovery, or what?

Hey Finally Sick & Tired -

I was given a card from the Doc, just like your husband got. I was told quite a bit about it - although I don't have to "call in" or anything.

I signed up, and was told if I wanted to talk to person they have them on staff there. Apparently they are there to encourage us - paid for by the manufacturer - and to listen and point us to other resources.

Again, I have not taken the next step of a personal call - I do get e-mails with encouragement, and links to helpful articles, etc.

setmefree- anyone on Sub can register for free.

The depth of use is up to the person signing up. It's supposed like a life-line to the recovering addict. So far, they have been non-intrusive into my life, and the information - like their latest e-mail about "cool your cravings, know your triggers" is helpful.

If people on the forum are not aware of this free resource, I'd say it is worth a peek. Again they will engage to whatever level you want. Apparently to the stage they will call you and help on the phone.

I'd like to hear how they are on the phone, and if the advice is good. I believe they said they were not MD's, so they would be support folks, or accountability helpers - as needed by each person.

Anyone else know more about this resource?

My husband doesn't call them. The counselors call him. He hasn't called them yet but they call him weekly.
