I am currently on 8 to 12 mg subutex had to raise my dose as I had gotten very big during my pregnancy. I have been breast feeding her since the day she was born and have not had any issues its a little hard for one of us here and there but its a brand new thing for us. any way my question is is it safe? and how much really gets to her if any? and is breast feeding keeping her from showing any signs of nas? I ask because that last question my d.roc who gives me the subutex said yes i went through the posts and didn't see anything about this topic so forgive me if i missed any info about this matter and thanks for taking the time to read this

I've been nursing for almost 4 1/2 months now and things have been going great. Forgive me if this is isn't spot on but I believe the baby only gets .02mg of every 2mg dose you get, and that is absorbed through the stomach of course which suboxone only works sublingually. More or less the moral of the story is baby gets such a very small amount that doesn't absorb in a way that would make the medicine have effects for him/her that it has been deemed safe by most drs. that have a clue. I say keep it up and your baby is getting the best stuff ever.. booby milk!

Hey Tina,
I sent you a private message and hope that you can reply to it. I am almost 39 weeks and also on sub..have decreased to 4mg a day. My OB knows because I mentioned it in the beginning, but they know nothing about the medication and have not mentioned it once since my first visit. I hope they forgot...I do NOT want to tell the hospital about it due to the horror stories that we have all read about that. I plan to take the rout you did and just take it day by day with my baby, hoping that she shows zero to little signs of NAS. I am so glad to have read in your other post that things are going well for you!!! If you have time, please read my message to you and respond!
