This forum is a place for addicts and for those who love them to discuss addiction, particularly addiction to opiates (pain pills). Please join us to discuss symptoms, patterns, consequences, and treatment of opiate dependence. Recognizing that opiate dependence is a potentially fatal disease, we respect ALL effective treatments for opiate dependence, whether or not the treatment includes buprenorphine or Suboxone.
Active threads include discussions about Suboxone withdrawal, side effects, how to taper Suboxone or buprenorphine, and issues related to Suboxone induction. We also invite discussion of methadone maintenance and abstinence-based recovery. We invite new members to share their personal stories about addiction, including insights they may have gained during their struggles. One of the site’s founders, Jeffrey T Junig MD PhD, has an active psychiatric practice that includes treating opioid dependence with or without the use of buprenorphine. He provides a medical perspective and discusses the newest findings related to addiction and buprenorphine.

Membership is absolutely free. I only ask that you remember the following rules of this forum:
This forum is for people who have made their choice whether it be for Suboxone, for Methadone, or for meetings and no medication. While I recognize that some readers are not yet at the end of that choosing process, I ask that they read the information and make their decision without encouraging debate on the forum.
PLEASE Do not get into debating which is better-- such debates never change minds, and often introduce false information that clouds intelligent decision-making.
Show the respect for the decisions of others and avoid personal attacks.
We put this forum together to raise awareness of the current epidemic of opioid dependence, to foster open discussion about the disease of addiction, and to further education about the proper use of buprenorphine. We receive no compensation from outside sources beyond a few bucks per year from Google Adsense. Specifically, we receive NO compensation from pharmaceutical companies, including Reckitt-Benckiser, the maker of Suboxone and Subutex. We have no interest in furthering ANY agenda, other than a general goal of reducing the number of deaths from addiction. If you are interested in supporting this site through donations or advertising, please feel free to contact us at admin@suboxforum.com. Any relationship with advertisers will be disclosed here. If you are a billionaire, hate addiction and want to buy everyone a super-charged forum, we would be willing to struggle with the moral issues caused by accepting your generous gift.
