This forum is a place for addicts and for those who love them to discuss addiction, particularly addiction to opiates (pain pills). Please join us to discuss symptoms, patterns, consequences, and treatment of opiate dependence. Recognizing that opiate dependence is a potentially fatal disease, we respect ALL effective treatments for opiate dependence, whether or not the treatment includes buprenorphine or Suboxone.

If you are not yet a member of the forum, please sign up and join us in our discussions. Membership is absolutely free. I only ask that you remember the following rules of this forum:

• This forum is for people who have made their choice whether it be for Suboxone, for Methadone, or for meetings and no medication. While I recognize that some readers are not yet at the end of that choosing process, I ask that they read the information and make their decision without encouraging debate on the forum.
• PLEASE Do not get into debating which is better-- such debates never change minds, and often introduce false information that clouds intelligent decision-making.
• Show the respect for the decisions of others and avoid personal attacks.

TalkZone Online Support Meetings

Starting June 29th (next Monday), We will be hosting online support meetings for those involved in Medication Assisted Recovery. Meetings will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9:00pm (EST)

Please note if you are attending the format will be as follows:

• A topic will be chosen and displayed in the chat area.
• Upon your arrival into the chat room, please keep your interruptions to a minimum. the group will take turns chatting by order of arrival. While feedback is encouraged, private one on one conversations and blatant disregard for the person chatting are not permitted.
• There is absolutely NO flaming, name calling, preaching, or derogatory comments allowed. If you engage in any negative behavior during meetings you will be removed!

I feel it is necessary to let you all know this is a place specifically for people using medication while in recovery under a physician's care, although all support is encouraged these meetings are considered an alternative to all other types of support group experiences, and are not intended to take the place of face to face counseling.
